  • What are we trying to achieve today?
  • What happened yesterday?
  • Where are we off track?
  • What are we going to do about it?
  • Who is accountable?

When these questions are answered consistently, at every level, every day — performance improves. Not because of any single brilliant insight, but because problems get surfaced faster, decisions get made closer to the work, and accountability becomes embedded in the rhythm of the operation.

The Three Pillars of an Effective MOS

Daily Management Routines

The foundation of any MOS is what happens in the first 30 minutes of every shift. Structured shift handovers, daily performance reviews, and short-interval control meetings create the rhythm that drives performance.

Without daily routines, weekly meetings become reactive catch-up sessions rather than proactive planning forums.

Visual Management

Data should be visible, current, and actionable. Not buried in spreadsheets or dashboards that nobody checks. Visual management boards — whether physical or digital — make performance transparent and create peer accountability.

Escalation and Problem-Solving

When a frontline team can't solve a problem, there must be a clear path to escalate it — with defined timelines and ownership. Problems that don't get solved at the right level become chronic issues that erode performance over time.
